Outside back

New Dimensions rebuilt this beautiful and energy-efficient home from the remains left by a fire that destroyed most of the original house. The restoration provided an opportunity to add space, increase energy-efficiency, and update kitchens and bathrooms. The design provides multiple views of the established gardens, and the house contains numerous special features, including spiral stairs with an artful wrought iron railing in the entry, stunning tile work in the master bath, and custom cabinetry throughout. A custom fabricated south-facing trellis covers the deck, creating a spacious outdoor room and allowing the sun in during the winter while blocking it in summer. Additional green features include.

  • Geothermal heating and cooling
  • Ventless attic
  • Sealed crawl space
  • Solar hot water
  • Sun-shading devices
  • Reclaimed-wood floors
  • Sustainably harvested wood
  • Fresh air ventilation and energy recovery system
